Heads up viewers… All Indiana broadcast stations, including PBS39, will be participating in a statewide tornado drill on Tuesday, March 20 as a part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week.
As a broadcaster, keeping you informed of impending emergencies is an integral part of our mission. This test, while only a practice run which will also include local municipalities and governments activating their tornado sirens, is part of that mission. While the scheduled test is only a drill, we wanted you to know why you will experience an interruption in our normal broadcast operations on our channels while this takes place.
Severe Weather Preparedness Week (March 18-24) and the tornado test drill helps ensure that the statewide Indiana EAS network is operating properly and is ready to respond in the event of a tornado warning in the state.
