The Read and Rise program of the Fort Wayne Urban League and Fort Wayne’s public television station, PBS39, invites the Fort Wayne community to celebrate the Month of the Young Child (April) at our annual Dr. Seuss party!

This FREE family event is open to all, but focuses on reaching our most vulnerable residents. We will share the importance of reading and early childhood literacy programs will be available.

The mission of the Read & Rise program is to encourage and support parents through research-based early literacy practices in order to increase their confidence and ability to positively influence their children’s future academic success. The Read & Rise program is endorsed by the National Urban League and supported locally by a grant form the Knight Foundation. It carries out its mission in the under-served Fort Wayne community through direct emergent literacy services to parents and their birth to age five children
