9638 Union Rd,
Plymouth, In 46563

Do you wish you could spin those soft, furry yarns? Or are you wondering where to begin with that fancy, fluffy roving? This experience is for new or experienced spinners who want to create luxury yarns from angora rabbits and/or custom blends of multiple fibers (animal, vegetable and synthetics); whether commercial or hand-mixed. We will examine each fiber’s characteristics, discover how to determine a drafting triangle, practice tensioning for differences, and sample the variables in spinning. Understanding health needs and how to store your stash critter-free will be covered, too.A live angora rabbit will be in attendance so you can understand how his hair fibers grow and are harvested compared to other rovings. Ideas and completed projects using handspun yarn will be on display to touch and feel the “hand” of this luxurious yarn. Participants should bring a spinning wheel in working order with two empty bobbins, plastic sandwich bags, index cards, and a one-hole punch. Arrangements to rent a wheel for the day must be made in advance. Peggy Coffey, Facilitator Saturday, December 9, 2017; 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST Please register by Wednesday, November 29, 2017
