Self-Expression in Water Soluble Media

An intensive exploration of techniques using three water-soluble drawing media: water-soluble graphite pencils, watercolor pencils, and Tombow markers. You’ll create washes, layer color, and define shapes and shadows. These media and styles are well suited to travel journals. Maren will demonstrate each type of water-soluble medium while emphasizing loose, quick drawings. Accomplish at least one sketch in each of the three media and then combine different media in one sketch. This experience is all about experimentation with the media and doesn’t have to result in a “finished” piece. Designing Dolls: Developing Your Own Textile Figure

Do you have ideas for uniquely designed dolls, but don’t know how to go about making those ideas reality? Like the idea of creating a doll, but don't know how? This is for the adventuresome; no patterns are handed out! Through one-on-one interaction with Jennifer, learn how to develop your ideas into three-dimensional shapes from flat fabric and hand-drawn patterns. Learn about special fabric usage and embellishments, drawing/painting faces, and creating needle-sculpted faces. Participants will produce at least one of their own uniquely designed dolls. Basic sewing machine skills and knowledge of your own well-working machine are required. Wild Game Cookout

Goose, deer, dove, alligator, antelope, bluegill, rabbit, crickets and squirrel have been on past menus! Conservation organizations and officers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Stop by early in the event for the best selection of wild game. *All wild game used for the program has been donated by local hunters.

Muddy Trail Run and Adventure Walk

It's created for the adventurous spirit & ideal for the whole family. Participants can choose to run or walk the course. The fun includes a mud pit, hay bale climbs, a river run and sand duneclimb, all spaced out on a 5K course. The point is not to finish first but to have a blast! Registration is $45 per person. This year, donate an additional $10 to receive a race headband. You can also test your endurance and run/walk the course twice for an additional $20.
