DVOŘÁK’S “AMERICAN” QUARTET Rossini Duetto for Cello and Bass Haufrecht Suite for Brass Quintet Dvořák String Quartet No. 12 in F major, Op. 96 “American”

Written in the Czech community of Spillville, Iowa during the summer of 1893, Dvořák sketched his quartet in three days, and it was completed in just under two weeks. "When I wrote this quartet...I wanted to write something for once that was very melodious and straightforward, and dear Papa Haydn kept appearing before my eyes, and that is why it all turned out so simply. And it’s good that it did."

The Allen County AARP Chapter 187 will hold its monthly free educational presentation on Thursday April 6, at 2:00 PM at the Fort Wayne Community Foundation, 555 East Wayne Street, Fort Wayne (corner of Wayne and Monroe.)

Joseph Everett, State President of AARP, will present "Re-imagining the Possibilities" an interactive exchange designed to explore the needs, dreams and potential that the over-50 generation possesses and is looking to realize.

Joe has volunteered with AARP Indiana since 2007, upon the conclusion of his professional career as a public affairs specialist with the Social Security Administration.

Some of Joe's responsibilities include: serving as the principal AARP volunteer spokesperson in the sate and the communication of AARP messages statewide. He builds networks and community partnerships across the state with other organizations and is a key decision maker to further AARP goals.  He also engages diverse populations in all activities in the state , and assists in the recruitment of other volunteers.
