Meet the local winners of the
2012 PBS Kids GO! Writers Contest

The entries have been sent in from area libraries and classrooms and sent on to PBS39
where we've picked our regional winners for 2012.

This year, winners at PBS39's local/regional level have been sent on to be judged alongside other stories submitted by young writers from around the nation. Prizes were awarded at the local level at a special winners' celebration held Thursday, May 31 at PBS39; Should any of our local authors and illustrators who place first, second or third at the national level, they will win prizes there. Their stories will also be posted at the national contest website, too!

Since the cancellation of Reading Rainbow in 2009, the future of this contest was not assured until PBS and PBSKidsGo! stepped up to renew this tradition of creativity, expression and fun for thousands of kids across the country, and all the PBS kids in our viewing area.

For 2012, some exciting changes came into place, especially the addition of a national underwriter for this educational effort. This year, winners at PBS39's local/regional levelhave been sent on to be judged alongside other stories submitted by young writiers from around the nation.

This year's contest is made possible, locally, through the gracious support of the
