April 20, 2013: Curious George
"Swings Into Nature" at the
Foellinger-Freimann
Botanical Conservatory located,
in downtown Fort Wayne
PBS39 is partnering with the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory of Fort Wayne for a special “Curious George Swings into Nature” day on April 20, 2013, from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Families will enjoy a day of exploration and fun-filled family activities such as a Dinosaur Train Butterfly Treasure Hunt. The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That: Exploring Trees, and Curious George Plant Puzzler.
Kids and adults are invited to come and explore the majestic
butterfly exhibit from West Africa, discover microclimates from across the nation, investigate the wonders of science during Science Fun- Dominating and a sneak preview of Curious George Swings into Spring.
Scheduled Activities include:
• Special sneak previews of the movie Curious George Swings into Spring: (10:30 am and 1:30 pm)
• Science Fun – Dominating: (11:00 am and 1:00 pm)
• The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot about That - Exploring Trees (10:00 am - 3:00 pm.)
• Dinosaur Train Butterfly Treasure Hunt (10:00 am - 3:00 pm)
• Curious George Plant Puzzler (PBS39 Kids Club Members Only - 10:00 am - 3:00 pm)
• Exploration of microclimates from across the nation, and individual science with featured presentations by Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory staff members” 10:00am-5:00pm.
This event is part of the premiere airing of a new PBS KIDS CURIOUS GEORGE special: CURIOUS GEORGE SWINGS INTO SPRING. From spring fever to spring cleaning, from a canoe ride to a hot air balloon journey, George and his friends get viewers ready to explore the outdoors this Earth Day. The one-hour adventure premieres Monday, April 22 at 8:00am on PBS39HD/Channel 39-1 and will repeat Friday, April 26 at 8:00am on PBS39HD/Channel 39-1.
Normally, admission for a day at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory would cost $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for kids 3-17 years of age (free 2 years old and under), but for this event, PBS39 Kids Club members get in FREE!
